9 Feb 2018 (Bariloche, Argentina): I’m eating chocolate! It’s a thing here because some Italian immigrants back in the day happened to be chocolate makers, and because now the whole city embraces anything that might draw comparisons to Switzerland (e.g. we walked past at least two restaurants advertising their fondue). I don’t love when things want to be other things, but this is some damn good chocolate. We’re at a place called Rapanui which is impressive. There are semi-separate rooms in the shop for pre-packaged chocolate, by-the-piece chocolate, ice cream and waffles, sitting and eating, and ice skating! It’s pretty well laid out, and the coffee ain’t bad either. Leah and I even like the font.
