22 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): We are buying some sweet fútbol gear for a game we’re going to tonight. Just to jump ahead a little, the game was really fun, and I wanna go to another. Here are some of the things that happened: (1) at no time were we more than 20 seconds wait from a vendor walking right in front of us to sell something (it was extremely irritating, and the lady next to us started yelling at them), (2) we unintentionally bought alcohol-free beer (we had a conversation immediately before buying it about how we’d both read that alcohol was banned in the stadium but that maybe the rules had recently changed. also “SIN ALCOHOL” was literally all over the vendor’s jacket), (3) we cheered and whistled and clapped and yelled “hijo de puta” with everyone else (4) and I hugged one of those vendors after this very impressive, game-ending goal.
