1 Mar 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): Today is a slow day. I do lots of reading (tech stuff) to set myself up for some tutorials tomorrow (and stretching because I’m sore from the gym), and Leah goes out on a walk without me. We went out for a really lovely dinner with another set of friends-of-friends, […]

Day 54
28 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): Leah’s uncle, Stephen, is in Medellin today for a visit! He has brought us some supplies and some smiles. And here we are in comuna 13 to ride the escalators and gawk at the graffiti. It’s on all of the do-this-thing-while-you’re-in-this-place lists. I’m not disappointed.
Day 53
27 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): We meet a friend of a friend (and his wife) for dinner and drinks in Poblado, the fancy neighborhood. It’s super fun, and Juan and Laura are lovely people. And this bar is doing a lot of work to be really hip :). That sign says “sin dios ni ley” […]
Day 52
26 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): We start our day at a nice breakfast place to do some research and planning for Ecuador. I get up to use the bathroom and see this glorious sight: four gringas intently focused on their Apple laptops. Sometimes you gotta just embrace what you are, right babe?
Day 51
25 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): Leah went grocery shopping and came back with a fruit bounty. I’m especially excited for the guavasteens (the green ones in the middle next to the lime).
Day 50
24 Feb 2018 (Medellin, Colombia): We take an exotic fruits tour at Minorista market. We try maybe 15ish fruits (~10 of which I’d never had before), and my new fave is guavasteen (feijoa en espanol). I think Leah is still partial to the granadilla. Ooo and the dragon fruit! I’ve seen these in other places […]
